A great day at Nursery

Emily was the VIP today. She came home so proud. She also made a wish at bedtime for her special friend (Hannah, the one with flowers on her shoes, not glasses) to come for tea as they are twins! It looks like she is settling well, it's amazing how quickly loyalty comes and how much of a sheep our daughter is. She came home to announce that sausages, mash and gravy are her favourite. This is a girl who has always told us that she doesn't like sausages or potatoes and when I have tried her with gravy (once calling it chocolate sauce) she still wouldn't try it! But Hannah likes sausages, mash and gravy so now does Emily. Let's hope she doesn't always go with the crowd!
The school day stories have begun. One pic of Joel... he found the water on top of the sand pit whilst I was hanging up the washing! Needless to say I needed to do more washing after this escapade.

8th Sept

Emily started Nursery School on Tuesday. She had a great time. Little does she know that she now will be in some sort of school until she is 18! She has been back since and still likes it, so all seems positive. It is very strange to be on the other side of school, working round timetables and structures, trying to get there on time to pick her up, labelling clothes, reading letters and getting involved.

On another note, Jamie celebrated his birthday on Tuesday complete with peanut butter pie for a cake! Yum. Happy Birthday J.

Walking

Yes we have finally got to that stage. Yipee!

Still a little wobbly but growing in confidence. 14 months old and walking: it's all very exciting in the McCulloch household.

One small step

Emily is slowly gaining in confidence to walk. We have had a few steps as she lunges between J and I. We look forward to the independance that will bring for her and us.

Hair

Jamie has been practising his future hair cut on Emily in the bath.
Hair bobbles are now needed or we will have to cut her fringe.
She now realises that clips can taste good.

Another first

Jamie and I are blessed with such great fathers, fathers who have been supportive and kind, loving and loyal and most of all great role modles for us to be parents.

Well today was Jamie's first Father's Day. (With a baby in the fresh air, Emily hadn't arrived this time last year!) We have had a fun day; it has been a bit manic as J was leading worship and I helped plan the service, but we squeezed in a couple of cool things. Jamie had a lie in whilst Emily and I made cards, then we went to visit Grandpa David to drop off his pressies, (Granda is coming home from Romania to visit us on Thursday). We went to the Trafford Centre, then to grandpa's to look at the pressies we delivered. Then home to sort ourselves out and for J to mark GCSEs.

Jamie wants to enjoy cooking and experiment a bit more so he received a cheesy commercialised apron, Incidentally Emily does think he is the best Daddy in the world as J can get the biggest laughs and giggles out of her where others, including myself fail!
On a side note but a first from yesterday... Uncle Greg,Auntie Sara and Auntie Deirdre... Emily is learning to throw a ball. Maybe she will like sports as much as you do!

Emily loves Hummus

We think! Well, she definitely likes feeding herself. (The carpet is taking a bashing!)

I love having a daughter ...

... for many reasons. One being that I can buy cute clips! Today was the first day that required cute clips. Ignore the scowling, Emily has had only 30 mionutes sleep since 7.30 am and it is now 4pm!
