Break down day

Our fridge/freezer broke today!

Our central heating boiler went on the blink today!!

Tomorrow the gas man is coming to hopefully fix it for the least amount of money possible.

Tomorrow we have to go to buy a new fridge/freezer as all the food in our frezzer is now in the bin and we have warm milk!

BLAH!!!!!

Bin raiding

I was walking through Didsbury village yesterday afternoon when I saw this pink wheelbarrow sticking out of the top. I would like to label my act of bin raiding as recycling - I am not too sure. :)

Needless to say it has provided hours of fun so far and hopefully we will train Emily to sweep all the leaves off our grass by next Autumn. (P.S. she really uses the word 'again' a little too often!)

Puddles, hair and singing

This weekend we went to visit family in Birmingham and had a great time. On Sunday we went to Dunham Massey to jump in the puddles! It was so much fun.

We have been experimenting with hairstyles this week. What do you think of these?
That is all for now, I have 4 days left until the holidays, one tomorrow and 3 next week. WoW!!!!

We have been practising our singing too! SO cute! (not my voice... hers!)

Parties and sick

Greetings from Carrgreen Close, complete with double glazed windows at number 26! we look forward to the warmth that will come with these. We have been busy, this weekend we were at a first birthday party at a soft play warehouse. Happy birthday Danielle. Emily had such a great time, especially in the ball pools and the big slide.

All is well, she has been sick today and not able to stay at the childminders but seems to have picked up and thankfully, no more sick to clear up.

Her hair is growing quick quickly now and is just long enough to make it into bunches. (We know she will hate this when she is older!) Well that is all from us, we hope to put our tree up on Wednesday night and make the house look presentable. It still is a bit of a mess, it will feel better when the gifts are under the tree and nicely wrapped instead of in carrier bags in the spare room!

I will leave you with a toothy grin!

Weekends away

This weekend we have been away to Edale with Jamie's parents and David and Nicola. We stayed in a beautiful refurbished barn where we overlooked the grazing pastures for the sheep. We had a great time visiting Chatsworth house and the farm there, the village of Eyam, where bubonic plague came in 1665 and Castleton where we heard pipe bands playing and the streets are decorated with trees and lights. I have uploaded some pictures. (as usual)
Chatsworth House

Running in circles and getting nowhere!
Chatsworth Farm

The scab on her nose is from Thursday when she opened the back door and fell out over the step as I was putting the cleaning box in the shed!

I only noticed the no photography sign as I closed the door when leaving Eyam church. At least no one was in there when I was, so I wasn't interrupting anyone!

The 'Plague' Window and a Norman Window, the oldest window in the church yet it lots so contemporary. A celtic cross dating back to the 8th century. Wow that's old.

The road between Edale and Castleton, a 10% hill.

It was Dad's birthday today, Happy Birthday to you. I think that is enough for now and I have so much to do before tomorrow at school, but I was excited to post pictures of our cool weekend and to use our new camera too.

Moaning and hoping

We have ordered our double glazing. After shivering for the past 5 winters in this house, we will now have the sixth with the benefits of draught proof windows. Yeah!!! (said with lots of enthusiasm) Hopefully they will be here in the first 2 weeks of December.

All the leaves have now fallen off the lovely trees by the side of our house and in our garden. We really hope this will be the last season that we will witness this as we would love to move asap. We just need to sell our house! We had more viewings this weekend; it gets tiring traipsing people through your home, personal space and life week after week. Hopefully we may have met the person who wants our house. We will wait to hear.

Wellies

Lots of requests for more pictures of the wellies so here they are. (Incidentally she had a temp of 38.2 when this picture was taken and we had to prise the hat off in order to reduce her temp!) She has a chesty cough and a streaming nose with a smile. What a cutie. (Mummies are supposed to say things like that. I'm told it's not bragging)

More news

Well... I filled you in on news of my sisters pregnancies and the joy of two nieces of nephews arriving in June. Now I can report that our sister-in-law, Nicola, is having a baby too. We are very, very pleased for Dave and Nic and look forward to meeting a new McCulloch in June.
So 3 new babies in June. (Judith is married to a twin and she hasn't had her dating scan yet so we say 3 but who knows?!)
I have included more piccies from the past couple of weeks.

Camera Phones are great.

Well, our camera has gone to camera heaven after 17 months! How did this happen I ask myself? I think it was when we went to the beach in Belfast and sand got into the lens. I asked for it to be repaired but the camera repair man told me to throw it away as cameras are so cheap to replace and expensive to fix! Anyway I remembered that I had a camera on my phone so here are the photos from my phone and some from before the camera broke. Aren't camera phones great?!

My youngest Sister, Emma and our niece, Ellie-May. (Emma is going to have a second baby next June. We are all very excited for another little Fawcett). My other sister, Judith is going to be a mummy for the first time. Big congratulations to David and her, we await the new arrival in June. Yes you read right... in June.

We went to the zoo, what a great day out.

The beach that broke our camera (We went here on the way to our meal on our wedding day and had pictures taken here.)
Parent and Tots at my old church. (Emily liked the pancakes!)
Always the keen musician
Choosing from the menu in Cafe Rouge
A new hat.
Trying out the new wellies in the leaves at NTC

All smiles.

We're back

But only for a quick one. Our broadband is dodgy. (note: don't join Talk Talk again)
We had a great visit to Northern Ireland to see family over half term. Sadly our camera is broken, we think there is sand (in the lens), so no piccies.
Emily has recovered from a month of sickness and is piling on the pounds as she enjoys food again. Her vocab is growing with a great repertoire or animals and other useless words. Can she say her name? Not yet but she has learnt the dreaded word...... No!
We are back and work and are working round the business of life again.
On the house front we have dropeed the price (again) and have ordered double glazing as if we have to stay here for longer, we are going to be warm for a change. The estate agent came to look around to see if there is aproblem with us or the house and has told us there is no issue (even with the back alley) and they are now very clear who our house will appeal to. This weekend we hope to decorate the spare room/study/music room and turn this into a bedroom for Emily as she really needs space to play in her own room.
My parents are now back in Romania in the business of the Winter season with shoeboxes and food parcels and Dad Mc is in Guatemala and Mexio with institutional reviews. Greg, our great friend, is returning from a mission trip to Bolivia this weekend. Check out the website www.fbcstep.com We hope his flights are on time.

The leaves have all fallen, Autumn seems nearly done and soon we will be preparing for advent and Christmas. Where has this year gone?
Well I am off to hit the shower before Emily and I go to Rhythm and Rhyme.

Graduation

We can't believe its been year but it has. LAst Year Greg (Uncle Greg to Emily) graduated with his MA and this year it was the turn of Uncle Andrew and Tim. (Check back to October 14th last year, wow has she grown!)
No I wasn't graduating, just saving my hair from the drizzle!

Gid, Tim (who graduated with a BA in Theology) and J ...say nothing about height!

Once Grandpa took his hat off smiles of recognition arrived.
Andrew (Uncle Andrew to Emily) graduated with distinction in his MA.

All smiles, what a lovely day.

The collection of the day, leaves
Mmmmmm

Emily and I had a great day, the weather was great and it was fab to be outdoors.
Sadly our friend lost his battle with cancer today. I am not sure what to write, we didn't know him amazingly well, but well enough to know that he was a great guy and he will be missed by many.
