Wow, another first birthday.
We were thinking today how weird it must be to have a birthday that you don't remember, yet it is so significant! Maybe there is someone out there who actually remembers their first birthday, but for Jamie and I... we don't.
Anyway where am going with this? I suppose a first birthday is all about family and the family celebration of a new life, the reaching of a milestone and the developing of a mini personality in a mini body.
Well Soren, yesterday was the big One for you. We wish you many birthdays to come, lots of cakes to be guzzled, many boxes to be opened and wishes to be made.
Happy Birthday, wee man, keep up the walking, it won't be long until you are chasing a ball just like daddy and uncle Jamie! ( you may even be better!)

hey guys, thanks for the well-wish. Soren still is our little joy bringer, and we're excited to hear abbout the arrival of yours! We had our party on the weekend - outside at the legislature grounds (where we walked once, I think). It was a beautiful sunny day, with lots of friends. Only thing was, Soren HATED his cake. I had been soooo looking forward to watching the little dude dive into the cake and get covered in chocolate - but he sorth of just stared at it, and when we put some icing on our finger and touched it to his mouth - he made the same face as when we gave him a lemon wedge. honestly - he gave a full body shiver when he tasted it - and it was a great cake! Evidently we've done a bit too good of a job at shielding our boy from developing a sweet tooth. Time to put him to bed with pepsi in his bottle or something....
Anyway - thanks for the greeting, and hopefully we'll be seeing the 'mother of all blog entries' soon, with your big news. Ciao.
